Faster Farther is proud to announce that our new team program is officially up and running. To do this, we worked with Bellingham Bay Outrigger Paddlers (BBOP) to prototype the program and technology to pull this off, and personally we think it's really special for a few reasons.
In talking with some of the team leadership we were able to understand the many headaches that paddling clubs go thru to develop their kit. We’ll just politely (but firmly) say that sourcing quality paddling clothes for teams, clubs and events can be brutal and it needed to be fixed. Typically teams or events are saddled with awkward minimums, very basic logo wear on an existing template, and a mix mash of sources while having to chase down commitments from people who have better things to do... like downwinders and local races.
The Faster Farther team apparel program program is pretty significant because there are no minimum orders and everything is integrated with the Faster Father webstore for a fluid shop+ship experience. And that means we can develop fully custom and lovely kit for the people who form the bedrock of our paddling community with very little hassle.
DESIGNING FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR SPORTS AND COMMUNITIES
But as much as we wanted to address the challenges, we also wanted to look at some of the opportunities for clubs and events. Namely, we’re designing kit that we believe will present a fresh point of view and a contemporary, fashion forward aesthetic. Faster Farther believes deeply in our mission to inspire paddlers, and in this case - people who might not even know they’re paddlers yet. Aka, young people! We also understand that many of the people who have a lot to contribute to paddling community come from a wide range of economic backgrounds and means. So we intentionally lowered prices on gear to help the team members to encourage our teams.
This is just a first effort, and as we make progress we'll improve things even more. But as the new kit filters in you'll likely see a few more BBOP Orca's out there on the bay and in our community... So say hi and high five them for supporting a KILLER (‹ pun intended) local paddling club and a local ocean sports apparel brand called Faster Farther.
